I was a little disappointed that the caps for these bottles do not have the pressure release feature that are part of the caps that come with this company's root beer kit.

8 amber plastic liter bottles and caps. Safer to use than glass bottles and easy to tell how much carbonation/pressure has developed by squeezing the bottle. Amber color keeps light out. Of course a glass beer bottle is smaller and easier to drink from. Cheers!

This product was as received and it works good for what you need it for. If you want better bottled beer though, Buy a case of Grolsch flip top bottles from your local beer store. They are a little pricey, but you get to drink the beer that is already in them, and then save the bottle for your Mr. Beer collection.

This is a great gift idea - got it for my husband's birthday. He really likes brewing the beers and trying different varieties, but it is definitely expensive! Great way to get started with brewing, but would recommend finding a less expensive system after you get the basics down.
